Trevor Noah Announces First Week of Daily Show Guests

Kevin Hart and Ryan Adams lead a diverse set of guests set to sit down with Trevor Noah on the new iteration of The Daily Show. Noahs first episode will premiere on September 28th.

Hart will be Noahs first-ever guest and will be followed by Tinder co-founder Whitney Wolfe on Tuesday. GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie will join Noah on Wednesday while Ryan Adams performing a song from his Taylor Swift cover album will end the week on Thursday.

The first episode will be a reintroduction of the show, Noah told Rolling Stone. But you cant just go off one episode like, Oh I know what this is about, I know what this is. It takes a lot more time. Youre building a relationship. So what were doing is dividing the first week into a four-part miniseries that will set the tone for what we hope the show will be.

Jon Stewart announced that he would be leaving The Daily Show in February. Noah was named as his successor a month later. During Stewarts era, Noah contributed a few on-air appearances as Senior International Correspondent. Soon after the announcement of his new gig, Noah came under heavy scrutiny for offensive tweets about Jews and women. To reduce my views to a handful of jokes that didnt land is not a true reflection of my character, nor my evolution as a comedian, he responded in the wake of the controversy.

Even amidst the backlash, Stewart defended Noah and gave him his full public support. My experience with him is that he is an incredibly thoughtful and considerate and smart individual, he said. I think, you give him that time, and its going to be well worth it. Im excited for where hes going to take this thing.
