50 Cent to Play Himself in Comedy Series My Friend 50

Curtis 50 Cent Jackson will play himself in My Friend 50, a potential Fox series about unstable twentysomething Amanda Kramer, who believes that joining the rapper-actors entourage will solve her problems. Jackson will make occasional appearances in the single-camera show, which is styled as a documentary commissioned by the most unreliable narrator in history: Amanda, Deadline reports.

Based on a spec script by Ava Tramer (Angie Tribeca), My Friend 50 will beco-produced by Jackson and Will Packer. The latter has worked on several successful films (Straight Outta Compton, Ride Along) in recent years; his upcoming projects include TV series for NBC (Truth Be Told) and ABC (Uncle Buck, an adaption of the 1989 comedy starring John Candy), along with a Ride Along sequel, which hits theaters January 15th.

Jackson, the star and executive producer of Starz drama Power, also executive produces SundanceTVs Dream School. His recent film acting credits include the boxing drama Southpawand comedic James Bond parodySpy.
