Watch Broad City Duo Bring Joy to Daily Show

The girls of Broad Citydid some cross-channel promoting Tuesdaynight as Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer stopped by The Daily Show to talk about the Comedy Central shows second season and its meteoric rise, making the jump from web series to televised sitcom and meeting Susan Sarandon at the Night of Too Many Stars telethon.

After Jon Stewart complimented Glazer and Jacobson for the genuine joy the show radiates, the hostasked the Broad City creators when the success of their show became real to them.

I think we were lucky enough that we had the experience of the web series before, so it felt legitimate to us before. We had to validate ourselves before other people did, and I think that really formed the experience which forms the product, Glazer says, while Jacobson admitted that her parents didnt know the difference between having a show on TV and having a show on the YouTube.

Glazer and Jacobson, who worked the phone bank at this weeks Night of Too Many Stars telethon, then recounted meeting Susan Sarandon at the autism benefit. Glazer thanked the actress for being such a bad bitch, but their conversation was cut short when someone called into the phone back and donated money just to speak to Abbi: Abbis mom, who shehad spoken to (for free) earlier that day.

Stewart ends the segment by thanking the Broad City girls for the hilarious work that theyre doing. Youre bringing joy, nothing better than that, Stewart said.
