Listen to Rod Stewarts Guide to Life

In a recent episode of our Rolling Stone Music Now podcast, Rod Stewart gave Andy Greene a career-spanning interview and explained the secrets of Rod-style living (step one: never cook a single meal for yourself, ever, unless tea and toast counts). Ive never been so content in all my life, Stewart says. I mean, apart from the financial side of things, lovely houses, I know thats all materialistic stuff, but I have the most gorgeous wife, and I have eight wonderful children, and two little ones. Its just fabulous.

They also cover Stewarts passion for Breaking Bad(Jesse Pinkman is his favorite character), his hairstyling routine, what its like to hang out with a 90-year-old brother and why you should always wait until the morning to argue with your spouse. Greene pushes Stewart to reunite with Jeff Beck (my voice and his guitar is a match made in heaven, he admits), and the singer breaks down the creation of several tracks from his overlooked 2018 album, Blood Red Roses,on which he attempted to write age-appropriate lyrics: the song Cold Old London, he reveals, is about getting tired of shagging and drinking.
