Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson sing Ariana Grandes 7 Rings and ask each other grueling lie detector questions in a preview of their upcoming spot on Fridays Carpool Karaoke: The Series.
The clip opens with the actors crooning the trap-pop single, which appears on Grandes recently issued fifth album, Thank U, Next. The duo sing the main melody an interpolation of Rogers and Hammersteins My Favorite Things in unison, adding some colorful hand gestures.
Jackson then notes that they should work on that bond of trust between [them], so he picks up a polygraph examiner and starts grilling his co-star with questions including Would you be honest with me if you didnt like my performance in a scene? (No, she truthfully responds), Do you actually like my Kangol hats? (Yes, she replies in an apparent lie) and Do you think I have a strong singing voice? (I do, she lies, arguing that the examiner is making shit up.)
Larson asks if Jackson likes her Captain Marvel suit (he does), if hed be honest if he didnt like her performance in a scene (he would), if hes ever farted while filming a scene (all the time) and a crucial follow-up if hes farted during their Carpool Karaoke segment (Of course not, he lies).
Captain Marvel, the first female-fronted superhero film from Marvel Studios, hits theaters on Friday, March 8th.
