Dave Chappelle to Host Saturday Night Live Post-Election Episode


Forget Trump and Clinton debate cold opens: Saturday Night Live has secured a monster post-Election Day episode as comedian Dave Chappelle will make his SNL debut when he hosts on November 12th. The surviving members of A Tribe Called Quest will serve as the episodes musical guests.

For Chappelle, the hosting gig is the comedians long-awaited return of sorts to television after he abruptly abandoned his beloved Comedy Central show in 2006. While Chappelle has continued to tour over the past decade, he has just one television/film credit 2015s Chiraq since Chappelles Show ended.

A Tribe Called Quest will also make their debut SNL performance as the legendary hip-hop group supports their new LP We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service, their first album in 18 years and final album due to the death of Phife Dawg in March.

Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch will host with Solange as musical guest on this Saturdays episode, the last before Election Day.
