Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Eminem to Appear in HBO Veterans Day Concert


This Veterans Day, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Rihanna, Dave Grohl, Metallicawill be among numerous artists who will head to the National Mall in Washington D.C. on November 11th for The Concert of Valor, an all-star event that will pay tribute to armed services. The special, which also features performances by Carrie Underwoodand the Zac Brown Band, will air live on HBO at 7 p.m. EST.

Tom Hanks will serve as executive producer and appear on the special, while Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, Jamie Foxx, Rolling Stone cover starJohn Oliver and more will also take part in the event, which is sponsored by Starbucks.

The Concert for Valor will provide a national stage for ensuring that veterans and their families know that their fellow Americans gratitude is genuine, HBO wrote in a statement. Millions of people, including veterans, active duty service members, their families and Americans from all walks of life are expected to watch the free concert in person or on television, with the goal of raising awareness for veterans service organizations dedicated to education, wellness, reemployment and reintegration.

Although HBO is broadcasting the concert, the channel is promising to make the available viewable for all cable customers, including those who dont subscribe to HBO. Joel Gallen, who previously helmed The 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert and the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonyfor HBO, will direct the Concert for Valor TV special.
