See Stephen Colbert Impersonate Mick Jagger for Howard Stern

Stephen Colbertwowed Howard Stern with a rendition of Brown Sugar and immaculate impersonation of Mick Jaggers dance moves during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show Tuesday, on Sterns SiriusXM channel Howard 100.

The song-and-dance routine was prompted by Sterns question about a Rolling Stones cover band Colbert fronted when he was younger. The Late Show host-to-be immediately broke off a few slick-footed dance moves before telling Stern: We were called Shot in the Dark we called ourselves A Shit in the Dark because we sucked so badly.

As lead singer, Colbert said Brown Sugar was his go-to track and he gladly treated Stern to a rendition of the Sticky Fingers opener, properly enunciating all the words otherwiselost in Jaggers mushy melding of a Southern drawl into hisBritish lilt. Right as he jumped into the chorus, Colbert leapt to his feet and resumed shimmying across the carpet and perfectly mimicking Jaggers peacock strut.

Colbert has begun making the media rounds as he prepares for his debut as host of The Late Show on September 8th. During a recent appearance at a Television Critics Association press event, herevealed his first musical guest would be Kendrick Lamar (who was the the final musical guest on The Colbert Report) and spoke about feeling freed up now that hes droppedhis beloved Report character.

Colbert also offered a peakat the mindset ofhis show in an essay forGlamour, in which he said he wouldto highlight a female perspective in the late-night TV sausage fest. Colbert noted the essay was largely penned by two female staffers, and in it he promised, Im here for you, and that means Im going to do my best to create a Late Show that not only appeals to women, but also celebrates their voices. These days, TV would have you believe that being a woman means sensually eating yogurt, looking for ways to feel confident on heavy days and hunting for houses.
