Watch Brent Cobb Take an Idyllic Snapshot of the South in Country Bound Video

There may be no more country sight than Brent Cobb, in denim overalls, walking down a dirt road in south Georgia to buy peaches. The songwriter continues his love letter to his home state with the second part of his Come Home Soon series. In this clip, Cobb is captured both ambling down the road and behind the wheel of his pickup, singing along to his song Country Bound. He waves at passers-by, picks a tune on the tailgate, and orders a breakfast sandwich at the local convenience store, making for a Norman Rockwell snapshot of the South.

In Chapter 2, our intent is to capture the true spirit of rural America. Everything and everyone you see is almost literally in my back yard. Ive known a lot of these people my whole life. The viewer knows them too, says Cobb. Im lucky enough to get to travel all over this country to all kinds of little towns and I meet these same folks everywhere I go. People are people no matter where youre at. When its time for me to disconnect from whatever I need a break from, I go down there and get lost in the country.

A track off his 2016 album Shine on Rainy Day, Country Bound is actually a song by Cobbs father Patrick Cobb. My dad and uncle wrote Country bound in 92. It was the first song I ever witnessed being written, he says.

Last week Cobb released the first installment of his Come Home Soon series with a clip of him performing that title song while spending quality time fishing with his daughter Lyla. Look for Part 3 to premiere next week.
