Watch Ansel Elgort, Jamie Foxx and James Cordens Spectacular Riff-Off

Viewers of The Late Late Show were treated to a spectacular, so-called impromptu riff-off Thursday night that involved vocally gifted multi-hyphenates Jamie Foxx, Ansel Elgort and James Corden.

The musical evening kicked off with Corden pretending to start a segment about dogs in sunglasses, but Foxx, who was seated in the audience, heckled Corden into having a riff-off instead. I dont wanna hear about no dogs in sunglasses, he protested.

Foxx and Corden then battled it out with help from a capella group The Filharmonic, choosing their songs based on their favorite male artists. Corden gave a high energy performance of Bruno Mars 24K Magic, but was quickly trounced by Foxx, who opted for a Sixties hit with Stevie Wonders For Once In My Life.

It was good. It wasnt great, if Im being honest, Corden critiqued cheekily. Ive seen better. The next round, the pair tackled songs featured in Foxxs upcoming film, Baby Driver, which included James Browns I Got the Feelingand Gwen Stefanis Hollaback Girl.

Then, a new face. Foxxs Baby Driver costar, Elgort, who was presumably relaxing backstage, couldnt sit in silence any longer, and took to the stage with his own contribution, a smooth rendition of The Commodores Easy.

That was phenomenal, Corden admitted. I get it. I get it. I should never have entered this battle. You win. You win. But in classic Corden style, the night ended on a happy note, with the three men belting out Aint No Mountain High together, to the cheers and applause of the audience.
