Alec Baldwin Responds to Donald Trumps SNL Criticism

After Donald Trump called out Saturday Night Lives latest episode as totally one-sided, Alec Baldwin, who portrays the President-elect on the series, responded by doling out some advice to his real-life counterpart.

Following a one-week hiatus, Baldwin returned to SNL with a cold open sketch where an overwhelmed Trump is forced to make good on his campaign promises.

I watched parts of Saturday Night Live last night. It is a totally one-sided, biased show nothing funny at all, Trump responded. Equal time for us?

Trump was referring to the equal-time rule, a policy put in place during presidential elections, but has no bearing after the election has already been determined.

Equal time? Election is over. There is no more equal time. Now u try 2 b Pres + ppl respond. Thats pretty much it, Baldwin fired back in the first of a series of tweets.

You know what I would do if I were Prez? Id be focused on how to improve the lives of AS MANY AMERICANS AS POSSIBLE. Id be focused on improving our reputation abroad, including actually fighting for freedom and not just oil. I would make every effort 2 retrain Americans so 2 cre8 jobs. 1 way u make America gr8 again is 2 put it back 2 work.

Baldwin then touched on the controversial appointments of Steve Bannon and Alabama senator Jeff Sessions to high-power positions. I would make appointments that encouraged people, not generate fear and doubt, Baldwin added.

After Trump was elected as the 45th president, and after Dave Chappelle hosted a Baldwin-less episode of SNL, it was unclear whether the actor would return to the role, especially after Baldwin criticized executives who killed any of SNLs attempts to sway voters.

However, Baldwin was back as Trump following the one-week absence, and as he tweeted to the President-elect, hell continue to mock him on SNL. I could go on. You want more advice, call me. Ill be at SNL, Baldwin wrote.
