Watch Stephen Colberts Fiery Parody of Beyonces VMAs Performance

Stephen Colbert opened The Late ShowMonday with a short, but literal parody of Beyoncs epiclive recreation of Lemonade at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Donning a similar southern gothic outfit, the host placed himself onstage beside Bey and added some extra in-verse lines to Warsan Shires Lemonadepoetry. But doors lead to trap doors/ A stairway leads to nothing, Beyonc recited. I had to climb out the window just to get to work this morning/ Its ridiculous, Colbert replied.

But amidst the opening vocal cues of Pray You Catch Me, things went terribly wrong for Colbert. While Beyonc stood stoic in front of a burning house, the host sniffed and began to wonder if anybody else smelled something burning, before realizing it was him. Oh my God put me out, Im on fire, he cried, as a stage manager blasted him with an extinguisher.

Colbert wasnt the only late-night hosts to spoof the award show. On the Late Late Show, James Corden played a disgruntled gym attendee in Kanye Wests Flashdance-inspired Fade videothat failed to enforce a strict no-sheep policy.
