Watch Busta Rhymes, Roots Rousing Hamilton Performance on Fallon

Busta Rhymes and rapper Joell Ortiz joined the Rootsfor a fittingly theatrical performance of My Shot, their contribution to The Hamilton Mixtape, on The Tonight ShowMonday.

The Roots singer, Black Thought, opened the song at a long boardroom table, rappingthe musicals signature anthem for a group of head-nodding suits before leading them to a stage where Ortiz delivered his spitfire verse from a pulpit. Busta Rhymes brought My Shot to a bombastic end, emerging in a massive fur coat decked out with some 18th century flare and tearing through his final verse with gruff aplomb.

The Hamilton Mixtapearrived last week and was executive produced by Black Thought and Questlove alongside the musicals creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda. The Roots perform several songs on the mixtape, including Youll Be Back with Tonight Show hostJimmy Fallon. Other featured performers include Nas, Usher, Sia, Miguel, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Wiz Khalifa, John Legend and Chance the Rapper.
