Comedy Central Streaming 42-Day Daily Show Marathon


With Jon Stewarts final The Daily Showset for August 6th, Comedy Central has announceda Your Month of Zen celebration dedicated totheir departing host: Starting today at noon EST, Comedy Central will stream 42 days of Daily Shows, kicking off with Stewarts 1999 premiere episode in the anchor chair. Tell your friends youll see them in August, Comedy Central joked.According to the Wall Street Journal, over 2,500 Stewart-hosted episodes from his 16-year Comedy Central tenure will stream marathon-style from now until promptly 7:17 p.m. EST on August 6th, just hours before Stewarts last Daily Show appearance.

In addition to the approximately 1,008-hour marathon, Comedy Central will also celebrate Stewarts incredible run with an original hour-long special on August 2nd called The Daily Show With Jon Stewart: News Your Own Adventure. That event, hosted by Daily ShowcorrespondentsJordan Klepper, Jessica Williams and Hasan Minhaj, will feature fan favorite highlights culled from Stewarts 16-year run as host. Additionally, SiriusXM announced that their Comedy Central Radio would provide a live audio broadcast of the Month of Zen stream from August 1st to August 3rd.

In an April interview, Stewart opened upabout his stunning decision to leave The Daily Show and how he looked forward to no longer be caught up in the relentless 24-hour cable news cycle. Watching these channels all day is incredibly depressing, Stewart said. I live in a constant state of depression. I think of us as turd miners. I put on my helmet, I go and mine turds, hopefully I dont get turd lung disease.

Following a brief hiatus, Trevor Noah will take overas the new host of The Daily Showon September 28th.
