Watch Michelle Obama, James Corden Settle USA vs. U.K. Feud With Dodgeball

Over two centuries after the end of the American Revolutionary War, James Corden and Michelle Obama set out to end the USA versus U.K. debate once and for all with a game of dodgeball on The Late Late Show Monday.

The pair assembled two crack teams, with Obama enlisting Melissa McCarthy, Lena Waithe, Allison Janney, Kate Hudson and Mila Kunis, while Corden tapped Harry Styles, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Bradley andLate Late Show bandleader Reggie Watts (who isnt British, but did his best to fit the part with a hilarious cockney accent).

In the lead up to the game, Team USA seemed to have the distinct edge thanks to team spirit and a common goal: You would not believe how easy it was to get people to do this, Obama cracked, all I had to say was, Youre gonna throw a ball at James Corden.'

Meanwhile, Cordens biggest concern was earning the respect of his teammates. When James Corden calls you, you initially ignore the call, Styles deadpanned. Then he keeps calling you, and then he starts texting saying, Hey did you get my call? And then he shows up at your house, your work, your hairdresser, your pilates class. And your shower.

The dodgeball games themselves were unsurprisingly wild and ridiculous. During the intermissions, the British side regrouped with tea and crumpets, and then lined up to get Obama to autograph copies her memoir as Corden awkwardly stood nearby. With the series tied at one game apiece, Team USA overcame an early deficit to win the game and the tournament, plus a comically oversized trophy and ultimate intercontinental bragging rights.
