Girls has revealed the first trailer for its upcoming sixth and final season, which premieres February 12th on HBO.
In the trailer, the titular foursome Hannah (played by Lena Dunham), Marnie (Allison Williams), Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) and Jessa (Jemima Kirke) holds a group meeting to air out the tensions that have grown between them in recent seasons.
In Season 5, its revealed that Jessa is now involved with Hannahs ex Adam (Adam Driver), resulting in a riff between the two. Regardless of everything thats happened, you are still my dear friend, Jessa tells Hannah in the trailer.
I dont think weve ever acted like friends, Hannah fires back.
Earlier this year, prior to the premiere of Season 5, HBO and Dunham announced that Girls would end following its sixth season.
I conceived of Girls when I was 23, and now Im nearly 30 the show has quite perfectly spanned my twenties, the period of time that its about, and so it feels like the right time to wrap our story up, Dunham said in January when it was announced that the series would conclude with Season 6.
We look forward to creating a sixth season that will honor our amazing cast, crew and fans. And in the Girls universe, nothing never ends too neatly.
As for the upcoming final season, executive producer Jenni Konner recently told Vogue, I can tell you that the girls, in a very Girls way, do finally start to grow up. Our greatest hope is that the audience finds the end as satisfying as we do. But then if the audience was entirely pleased, it wouldnt be Girls, would it?
